Water.
Inching its way across the stone steps,
And then back down to its dark depths.
All with a simple,
Small wave.
The heartbeat of the ocean.
The sun sets behind the mountains.
Leaving pale,
Cold colors to fill the empty sky.
Standing in socks and sandals,
A lone girl stares into the water.
Taking chance by the hand,
She steps in.
The water,
Tingling cold,
Crawls up her skin,
Sending shivers up her back.
With every movement,
Icy fingers grab at the vulnerable flesh of her pale legs.
All is quiet.
Cold turns warm.
Ripples settle.
Contentedness wraps around her like a blanket.
In that moment,
Time stopped,
With a certain stillness.
I'm going to be uploading a few more things I think, but I'm still not sure.
